Here you can get an impression of my work.

Although I started out with papier-mâché sculptures, I now focus on clay as a sculptural material. Many of my ceramic works also have a more practical function. For example I like to make salt and pepper shakers because they provide a good reason to place a small sculpture on the table that you can also hold in your hand. Art often creates a distance between the object and the viewer. Combining an everyday object with a sculpture breaks down these barriers and brings art closer. I also make boxes and other containers that carry a figure.

I use different types of clay and a wide variety of glazes and engobes. Due to the high temperature at which they are fired, my ceramics are considered stoneware, which is highly resistant and compact.

Another of my specialties is creating personalized sculptures, whether of a loved one, a pet, or another animal that you admire.

As far as human figures are concerned, I make small ceramic busts that can also be used as salt shakers. You can find more information about the busts here.

I also make cups with the faces of specific people on them.

I offer various options for pet figurines too. Your dog, cat, etc. on a box, as a salt shaker, or simply as a small sculpture.

For orders, I require photos from all angles, if you have them available. If not, I create the sculptures with a little imagination based on a single photo. I also create sculptures of historical figures, often based on paintings.

My sculptures make excellent gifts, especially for those who “have everything.” That's why they are an unexpected surprise and a lovely reminder of a loved one, whether a person or an animal.

My sculptures can already be found on every continent. Orders usually take four weeks to complete, unless I am too busy. Please plan ahead!

Although I am based in Zurich (Switzerland), I ship worldwide. Please feel free to ask me about the prices, which are very reasonable. You can contact me via my email address: papier@milavazquezotero.com
